Network Modernization for a Healthcare Provider

The Challenge

A regional healthcare system with 12 hospital locations and 200+ clinics was operating on a patchwork of aging Cisco networking equipment, some dating back to 2009. Frequent network outages were disrupting clinical operations and, in some cases, delaying patient care. The legacy infrastructure couldn't support modern medical devices, telemedicine platforms, or HIPAA-compliant data transfer.

Our Approach

We designed a comprehensive SD-WAN modernization program using a phased location-by-location migration approach to minimize disruption to 24/7 healthcare operations. Clinical workflow analysis informed prioritization.

Network Modernization for a Healthcare Provider

The Solution

Deployed Cisco Meraki SD-WAN across all 212 locations with centralized cloud management. Implemented network segmentation to isolate IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) devices per HIPAA requirements. Established redundant failover links at all locations.

The Results

"Our clinical staff can now rely on the network. We haven't had a significant outage since Gorgias completed the modernization." — Dr. Maria Santos, CIO, HealthFirst Systems
