The Challenge
A regional bank serving 500,000+ customers discovered critical vulnerabilities during a routine audit. Their security infrastructure was built on legacy systems, creating significant exposure to modern attack vectors. The bank faced regulatory pressure from FDIC and OCC examiners, with a 90-day remediation deadline to achieve compliance or face sanctions.
Initial penetration testing revealed 47 critical vulnerabilities, 12 of which could enable unauthorized access to core banking systems containing customer PII and financial data. Legacy firewall rules had not been reviewed in 3+ years.

The Solution
We implemented a multi-layered security architecture: next-gen firewalls (NGFW), endpoint detection and response (EDR) on all 3,000+ devices, privileged access management (PAM), and a SIEM platform for real-time threat intelligence. All 47 critical vulnerabilities were remediated within 45 days — well ahead of the regulatory deadline.
The Results
The bank successfully passed regulatory examination with zero findings. Our SOC has since detected and neutralized 340+ potential threats in the first year of operation, and the bank has achieved full SOC 2 Type II certification.
